The Doughnuts Were Scrumptious

flysouth I had such fun on Saturday with my friends at Fly South here in Nashville. They rolled out a fine spread of Krispy Kremes, hot coffee, mango mimosas and bloody marys. We had a great turnout, and hopefully I didn’t bore everyone with my presentation on Montana trout fishing – heaven knows that’s a topic I like to talk and talk and talk about!

It was such fun to be with family and old friends, not to mention have the opportunity to meet new ones. I’m so grateful to everyone who trekked out. Here’s a mini slideshow of the event. Hold your cursor over each picture to read the captions:

Hopefully Fly South got a little extra ring on the register from our breakfast gathering. These guys are topnotch and deserve it after all their hard work.

Little Chick certainly had her consumer hat on wandering through the store, adding one item after the next to her xmas list. The number one item she wanted from  Fly South? A new pink flyrod. I guess Santa was watching my presentation and our little shop gathering because this appeared at our early xmas celebration yesterday morning:

Chick – - Looks like yall had great fun with a nice bunch of folks at the presentation. You’re writing 2-3 blogs, a book, seminars, presentations, The Texas Water Safari, raising a Little Chick…when does the Fly Fish Chick Movie come out? Hope I have the opportunity to Fly South soon. A pink fly rod? Does it come with a matching reel? Hoping you and yours have a very Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year. Best fishes, Rod

Merry Christmas to both chicks big and small. What a cool rod little chick I bet it catches big fish. I can hardly wait to see the first grip and grin using the new pink rod. It was a pleasure meeting the entire family chick. I loved your moms stories about your start in fly fishing she is a lovely lady. You all have a standing invite to fish the lime stone legends in central Pa. anytime you so desire. I truly enjoyed your presentation and glad I made the trip. I got home at 2 Am Sunday morning with all the snow in the east flying was a mess. I am packing for home and tying a few last minute flys for white Deer and Penn’s Creek. I would guess most of your readers would think I am nuts and maybe so. I am heading for snow country to chase winter trout in central Pa. I am packing the warm cloths and footies to keep my old toes warm. There is nothing like moms cooking, visiting the family and winter trout.
My two cents about Fly South in Nashville. For all those passing through make sure you stop and visit the shop. The staff is first rate and everything they have for sale is top notch. They have everything from fly line to kayaks. I am pretty sure they can hook you up with some great southern fly fishing adventures as well.
I hope you all have a happy and safe holiday. I also hope the new year finds our service men and woman home safe. Tight Lines all and Merry Christmas. Mike <

  7. MERRY MERRY to everyone and THANK YOU again for the hospitality at Fly South!!

Mike — I am horrifed that you arrived home at 2am but selfishly still so happy you came. Your kind words mean so much. The whole family was blown away by your monumental effort to be a part of the day
